How to use Canva’s Color Picker

Canva is a super easy and simple to use platform that you can use to create graphics, posters, flyers, stickers, etc.  Pretty much whatever your heart desires!

Canva has a cool feature called the color picker that is pretty similar to the eyedropper tool if you’re someone that pokes around in Adobe Illustrator also.  I’m going to provide a quick and to the point guide on accessing the color picker in Canva.

So you’re creating or making edits to your Canva creation and you’re trying to get the colors to match that of a different design element in your design this is what you’re going to to do

Step 1: Select the graphic or text that you want to customize.

Step 2: Click on the color option

Step 3: Hover over the current selected color of the text and click on the little sliders that populate to edit the color

Step 4:Below the color panel, you should see the HEX code for the current color and to the right of that HEX code, you should see a symbol that looks like an eyedropper -click on it- that’s the color picker

Step 5: After selecting the color picker, you’ll be able to hover over any part of your graphic and you’ll be able to select one of the colors that you hover over

Boom, you’ve now learned how to use the color picker in Canva!
